Outreach Program Requirements & Restrictions

We'd be happy to answer any specific questions - please contact us

We strive to deliver for our customers!

We welcome our customers giving direction as to the animals that would most please their students, guests or community members.  For example:

  • “mostly mammals”
  • “mostly interactive”
  • “no snakes or spiders please”

Some customers in the past have taken a bit more liberty then granted, and sent us a specific list of animals they want to attend their program.

It is rare that this request will fully be able to be honored, but in cases where the animals requested are:

  1. eligible for the program booked
  2. are available on the day,
  3. the venue meets requirements and
  4. they are approved to work with the assigned presenter

– then we will do our best to deliver for our customers!

  • “WISH LISTS” or animal preferences must be sent no less then 1 week (7 days) before the presentation.  In all cases, the animals that attend any program are at our sole discretion.

  • REGULATED / RESTRICTED: For regulatory reasons, these animals are generally “hands-off” for the public.  This statement by it’s nature is vague because (1) laws vary by state and (2) educators may have some discretion in certain circumstances.
  • INTERACTIVE / UNREGULATED: Our “farm life”, “pet life” and friendlier wildlife species of Ambassador Animals.  Most of these animals are rescues that were injured, abandoned or displaced… and they all have their own personal stories!   At our discretion – all of these animals may be hands-on.
  • VENUE RESTRICTIONS :  Indoors is ALWAYS preferred!   For those planning events in outdoor venues, we require an indoor back-up plan, a non-refundable security deposit and the acknowledgement that said deposit will be lost if the event is cancelled or the weather/climate is unsafe for the animals to be exhibited in and an alternate satisfactory venue is not made available – resulting in the inability for us to deliver the program.  Venue guidelines are detailed in the next section.

  • Indoors is always preferable for safety, security and comfort of the animals and the audience.
  • Temperature: 65-85 degrees for most animals.  Conditions outside this range will result in certain animals being excluded from the ability to be considered to attend.
  • FULL SHADE IS REQUIRED, by trees, permanent structure (pavilion for example) or stable tent.
  • Dry space
  • CALM & COMFORTABLE – slight breeze is ok, but no high winds or gusts.

*ANY exceptions must be approved on a case by case basis by the Director

“Home Town”  – NO TRAVEL FEE applied for programs delivered in Rochester or Barrington, NH

Mileage Rate effective 3/15/2023: due to increasing fuel & travel costs we have had to depart from the “fed rate” for the first time.  The current rate is $0.80 per mile round trip as calculated by our office, zipcode to zipcode for all New England locations from our Rochester facility.

This rate will be adjusted up or down as appropriate in the future.

*Maine Import Fee: $27 (effective 1/1/14, this is a per occurrence fee that we now will be reflecting on Maine customer invoices to offset the exceedingly high fees imposed by Maine regulatory agencies.)

The "Zippity-ZOO for Preschools & Daycares" is only offered within a 1 hour radius of Rochester, NH, and only during the months of the school year.

SEASONAL LIMITED TRAVEL DISTANCE:

  • Due to high demand and limited resources, between April 1st and Halloween, our one-way travel distance is limited to 3 hours, except for customers booking FULL DAY School Enrichment visits.   Exceptions may be approved by the Owner for existing customers and special exceptions (i.e. TV appearances, etc)
  • During this timeframe, the "Tiny Creatures" and "Cold-Blooded Creatures" mobile programs are only available within a 90-minute drive of Rochester, NH.

Unless otherwise specified in writing in your contract, by making a reservation you agree to and are bound to the following terms:

  • A non-refundable security deposit is required within 2 weeks of booking – or your contract is subject to being void.
  • All balances must be Paid In Full before or at the presentation/exhibit.
  • Payment by check and/or cash are greatly preferred so as to avoid credit card transaction fees, and ensure as much of your support goes to animals and supporting farm/education operations as possible!!
  • “WISH LISTS” or animal preferences must be sent no less then 1 week (7 days) before the presentation.  In all cases, the animals that attend any program are at our sole discretion.

  • For all school and corporate customers – payment by check or cash is preferred.  Net-30 terms available upon request.
  • Private checks are accepted so long as the are received and clear in advance of the program date.  Otherwise, for day-of payments we accept cash, Venmo (weecocenter603) and online credit/debit.   *NOTE: Our educators do not processes credit/debit card in person (POS), and we NEVER take credit card numbers by phone or in person!  Protect your privacy, and if anyone ever says they are from our organization and they want your card number, decline them and please contact our office and let us know!
  • A $100 non-refundable deposit is required for Private Parties.   Check your contract/email terms and conditions or call us if you have questions.
  • Corporate & Institutional payments by EFT/ACH or NET(x) terms are available.
